  • Got Lefse?

The NYT recently posted a delightful video about a young fiancee learning to make lefse for Thanksgiving on the family's North Dakota farm.

My mom grew up on the Minnesota part of the Red River Valley, and I thought this piece was funny and heartwarming. ("Sweet potatoes? That's different.")

And yes, my family always has lefse at Thanksgiving.

Sounds tasty. But anyone that has to watch their blood sugar levels just as well move on, lol.

More of a Christmas thing here. ate lefse since I was a baby. My Grandma Matie made lefse every year , then my Mom did it, now my son Bob makes it . Just wouldn't be Christmas without it.

We finally gave up making it. We tried buying it for a while but I think the seller just couldn't make enough and make it right both.
        They are older also.

I sort of tried making lefse and sort of failed. But I can make good tortillas, so I figure I can substitute tortillas for lefse.
