A while back we hauled 90 railcars of steel to a local firm. All the writing was in Arabic. Very little steel is made in the US.
A humorous side note. At least to me. The steel coils comes in cans. The cans have water lines on them from being under water on the ships and barges. Last batch we hauled were sitting outside at the destination. We HAVE to tarp them for the 30 minutes they are on the truck.
With our labor laws and EPA it is a wonder anything is made here.

Just remember Dan what Perot said about the original nafta. There would be a giant sucking sound of jobs leaving this country. The kook was right.

There wouldn't be the need for all these tariffs , IF , our politicians , President included , would step up to the plate and do something to discourage and prevent American companies from moving to other countries .
I had a pretty regular haul from the U.P. to Spencer Iowa hauling casting parts to the " Eaton " plant there . Loved the run . Most generally picked up a load of high quality cheese in Hull Iowa and brought it back to Wisc. A nice 2 day run . Paid well and steady .
Eventually I started having 2 Bill of Laidings going to Eaton . Some of the castings stayed in Spencer Iowa at Eaton and the rest were being transfered to ....... MEXICO !!!!!
I heard the rumors about the Spencer Eaton plant closing , and eventually they did . Now all those parts go to Mexico then get shipped back here after more machining and assembly .
Companies need to be penalized for taking American jobs , Business , and Products to other countries just to ship back to the good ol US customers just for company and share holder profits .
Think of all the products that used to be made here providing jobs and benefits that has been moved out of country . I think its UnAmerican !

its a proven FACT it only takes a illegal 18 seconds to climb the approved 30 foot wall NOW I DID SAY ANYTHING ABOUT GETTING DOWN sure some legs arms and heads will be busted but that's just collateral damage then again if they dig under and they will about a half a day the only way to hold them is to use the national guard and post one every 200 yards in a guard building with a M16 now we are talking then the message will get through either that or 440 wire ---------no Tariffs will stop this -------------------------dave

We get our tomatoes from B.C. Hothouse in the winter. [Canada] The only reason your food is coming from Mexico is cuz their labor is cheaper, not cuz we can't grow it. My argument has been-buy their product, it'll keep those people down there working- It maybe works for Mexico, but not for those Socialistic ransacked countries south of them. I really don't know how Mexico will stop them from migrating thru their country, but a little tariff pressure will get the wheels turning.

I'm certain some imports that we use regularly will be higher. A lot of our manufactured parts , equipment and seasonal foods come across our southern border.

I know I will be broken hearted about missing tomatoes , avacados and all those wonderful products sold in Mexican eateries. [much sarcasm intended]

The poster child of a lunatic is a democrat who thinks we can continue allowing millions of criminals into this country. This is sheer liberal BS to want to allow our country to be over run. Just think if caravans of Americans were heading toward that liberal Canadian border clamoring for free food medical care, education and be allowed to vote. Betting that ain't gonna happen fruity

Now, with Trump's new tariffs on Mexico after agreeing to a new US/Canada/Mexico deal, does anyone not understand that making a deal with Trump means absolutely nothing? Do you slow thinkers not now understand what a lunatic we have as our leader?
