  • dairyfarmmn's thread went poof?

Well, DF's thread just disappeared into the intergalatic bit bucket? Anyhoooo, he accused me of broad brushing all teachers as maggot infested protestors. Surely you know better, DF? WI experienced a gathering of the radicals, anarchists, communists, union thugs, trashing our state capitol building and grounds and yeah, there were SOME teachers acting like idiots there too. I wouldn't say it was a majority of the teachers. Most know the WEA Trust Insurance gig was a scam on WI taxpayers.

Now on to the Catholic Worker Movement:

The Catholic Worker Movement is a collection of autonomous[1] communities of Catholics and their associates founded by Dorothy Day and Peter Maurin in 1933. Its aim is to "live in accordance with the justice and charity of Jesus Christ."[2] One of its guiding principles is hospitality towards those on the margin of society, based on the principles of communitarianism and personalism. To this end, the Catholic Worker Movement claims over 213 local Catholic Worker communities providing social services.[3] Each house has a different mission, going about the work of social justice in their own ways, suited to their local region.

Catholic Worker houses are not official organs of the Catholic Church and their activities, inspired by Day's example, may be more or less overtly religious in tone and inspiration depending on the particular institution. The movement campaigns for nonviolence and is active in opposing both war and the unequal distribution of wealth globally.

-------------So this particular group of radicals is not an official extension of the Catholic Church, in fact, IMO they're a bunch of socialists. Hopefully the reforms started under Pope Benedict will continue to remove some of the blight that has plagued the Church. A lot of the predator homosexual clergy got the boot, eventually that will be cleaned out. (Not sure what the comedians and Catholic bashers will do for material when the riff-raff are evicted from the Church?)

Well let's hope this doesn't disappear into AW black hole zombie land?

Are you saying that just because some members of a given religion are bad that not all members are? When did you start believing that?

A person does have to wonder if "balance" in your life as part of the Tao religion means frequently changing your handle on Agweb.

But that is NOT what you said before, you called all teachers maggot infested hippies cause the protested against something for the common good. And you made vague reference to teachers in other posts, you made no distinction between a cetain group of teachers or just teachers in Wisconsin, you labeled them all. Now you want to not label all Catholics that have protested something helping the common good. No frac sand, no oil outta the Bakken. But then again, why should those of us near the silica sand mines have to have higher risk of lung cancer so others can have more oil? What do we get out of it besides more prevalence of lung cancer?

dairyfarmmn, wife and I were down at the state capitol on business one afternoon when the protests were raging. Total freak show. Disgusting.

Now, you and I both know it isn't all teachers that bought into that radical, anarchist, union bullcrap. WI teachers can still negotiate for their pay. But the teachers' union monopoly on health insurance finally got broken. School districts across WI are saving multi-thou$sand$ but letting insurance coverage out for bids. It was a long and bitter fight with the union hardliners. And there's many, many teachers who didn't agree with the union, in fact, union membership has greatly declined because the union no longer has a choke hold on the teachers.

I'm certainly not anti-teacher. My mother taught grade school so I know about grading papers at night, etc. is all about. So there, that sets the record straight.

As to frac sand, I don't know anything about it. I do know that the Catholic Worker movement is a bunch of extremist socialists so I don't assign a whole lot of cred to them. There's a lot of warts on the Catholic Church that need burning off. Still cleaning house on those homosexual predator priests. That's what happens when liberals had control of the Church.

BTW, still don't know what happened to your original thread. I had typed a response, hit post, and got an "invalid thread" reply.

Pizzed me off to lose that reply. Same feeling as to when Bill's thread disappears with all the items I worked hard to find posted there. All because someone didn't like Bill's thread headline, hurt someones widdle feelings I was told. So I went to work on a identical headline, and was given song-dance until I persisted. Double standards reign.

Anyhoooooo, with your super mod powers, you bird dog where your thread went??????? Well I'm doing some land leveling-reshaping again tomorrow. Time to hit the sheets.
