I wish they'd just be honest and give a honest explanation of what the situation is. Can't maintain it, won't maintain it, don't want to maintain it? Wish us few long timers would give up and leave so they could start fresh? Just somebody give an honest explanation for once.

There is no interest by FJ to host and monitor a good site like Agweb used to be. I've been participating here for about 10 years. seen the good the bad, and now the ugly. I can't imagine that there are that many people viewing the bullchitt spammer content. i think we are deluding ourselves if we think FJ gives a ratz azz about this site. Times change and most posters have given up and moved on to udder chat sites or just said F uckk it

I still check in here. I guess I think of it as "home". I spend way to much time on another site now! Not as much fun as agweb was a few years back though....

Yea, watching my beans makes me think of ole 48 when he said beans were more drought hearty than milo. Didn't agree with him on that and still don't, but those beans have started to turn brown and wilt down a half dozen times now. Then we will get a .4 or .6 shower and they'll green back up and hang on for a few more days. Finally got 1.6 inches a day ago. That will give us a week or so and there is more chances this week end. This is sure an unusual year right here. Beans got some decent growth. Just a little more favorable weather and we could end up with a pretty decent crop and just a little less favorable we could end up collecting crop insurance. Went through the southern part of our county for the first time the other day and the corn and beans look great. Talked to a neighbor who has a pasture down there and he said yea, there is a strip through there that's had 10 inches July through now. What a difference a few miles can make.

Okay, I thought it unusual when WE were getting rain and the markets kept going up...now ole 478 claiming 8.7 inches with cat fish in his soybeans..and the markets go down...

TAS, you need to go to Chicago and "minnya-holepolis" and do some grumping with those paper chasers...

I have been going to new ag talk. At least there is some one there. Not near as much fun as this place used to be!
I think Ken goes to Agriculture.com? I hate their format. May be Ken will turn up and correct my error!
Bash board showed promise, but I was unable to join. Some things were not what I wanted to have the grand kids look over my shoulder and see either.
I spend to much time on the internet any way.
The wife told me no more farmer porn! No craigs list, tractor house and definitely no more Truck Paper! Not only have I spent to much money but the drool keeps messing up the key board!

I complain too but I shouldn't. I wouldn't have a clue how to start a site like this used to be, Let alone keep it policed and running.

Hi guys. You're right--you do deserve an explanation. My name is Jen, and I've worked for Farm Journal/AgWeb for nearly 10 years. I've been hopping on here periodically over the past few weeks to delete the spam and ban the spammers off of this forum. The honest truth is, we haven't had anyone on staff with the time to properly monitor and maintain this forum for quite some time. For now, I'll try to check it each weekday morning to at least keep the spam under control.

We're currently discussing how we might revive this forum. So my question to you all is: Outside of finding a proper moderator, how could we make this site better? How can we make it NOT suck? Or at this point, is it too late to even try?

I've been meaning to stop by the office and find out what is wrong here but just haven't done it.If you could have seen this site 10 years ago it almost rivaled what facebook is today.I think many of the previous posters still check in to see if it is fixed but it's been a while since the activity has been very busy.
We had some great discussions, a few wars,a little naughty humor, but all in fun.I couldn't wait to get home to see what was posted and many nights I stayed up past bedtime to catch up.Now I check in once a week or so. I know of no other site that has the issue of spam that this site has and has had for many years. Hope it can be cleaned up . Does it affect the other forums on here ?

I wish you luck Jen and I hope you can Make Ag-Web Great Again !!!

Thanks for having the ovaries to at least tell us what is going on, was wondering if anyone knew where the steering wheel was much less use it.

There are some pretty bright and occasionally darn funny dudes that have been on here and if you can keep it cleaned up of spam, and possibly jihad joe the anti american propaganda machine under wraps, and turn the guys loose a little, good things may happen.
