    At the bottom of the big crash in the 80's I looked at 400 acres on south side of 32 near Macon, in fact it lay on the edge of town with some road frontage on 32 east side of Macon. 2/3 tillable rest in woods. Very flat and lays pretty wet. But your right it wasn't 200 it was $400. I was told the seller a realestate broker, bought it from the bank for around 200. But i don't know that for sure.

    cheapest I heard of around here was $275. Both were hills and inside deals.

    The lowest I heard in this area was about 700 per acre for a fairly rough farm that sold on an auction. $1000- $1250 were common from 1983- 1985. I gave $1250 for an 80 with decent buildings in late 84 and neighbors thought I was nuts with interest rates in the 12-13% range at the time
