Should we actually send Federal Troops into Chicago to go after the gangs?

We all know about the massive murder rate in Chicago. I watched a PBS show about the violence and one cause stated was that the revenues declined so much over the last few years that the detective force was so small they couldn't handle the cases and that the laws are so lax that a thug knows he has only a 1in 4 chance of actually getting convicted of a crime. They have since added 200 more detectives to the force and have gotten more uniforms out on the streets also. Another factor of the high violence is that so many gang LEADERS have been taken down that there is a lot of gang infighting for control of gang leadership by former underlings as well.Why would we want to start sending Federal troops into cities is a mystery to me.

Aside from there being constitutional problems with this, Chicago and the state of ILL are reaping what they sowed from years of political corruption, mob and union thuggary and galactic financial mismanagement. Until you deal with all of that, I don't believe the best military forces, much less police, could do much about it.

Don't waste anymore human life on Chicago or any city for that matter with men and women in uniform. Send in the DRONES! That'll get their attention but quick. A couple of those and then maybe the locals can get to the bottom of it. I doubt it though.
