Toyota did a auto owner study about 15 years ago to get owners feelings about several issues related to auto ownership. Power,styling, cost of operation etc. They found that by a wide margin, the no.1 fear of auto owners was that their wife or daughter would have a car break down on a busy expressway or in an undesireable neighborhood.
When I see a so called 'news report' loaded with fear mongering statements aimed at that fear I question the validity if that report.
It's the American Petroleum Institute for cripe sakes, gas sales are down now, they don't want to give up another 5% of the market. R7
