    Anderson Hay moving????

We heard thru the rumor mill that Anderson Hay, a large hay exporting company, is stopping its operations in the pacific northwest and moving it all to Los Angeles. Just wondering if anybody else has heard about this?? Our hay broker says that the hay price over here could drop as much as $50 a ton. Good for us and PERCY i guess!!

I hadn't heard that. Keep us posted if you get any details or more information.

Partly correct, CCM. What's happening is the cost of containers in Tacoma is $1,000, and that same container in LA is $300. So Anderson could be hauling their hay to LA instead of Tacoma, which makes Cali hay the 1st choice. I guess if it wasn't for Ellensberg grass hay, it would be worse yet. Another twist to shipping...refridgerated containers are going west, [to the far east], big time, loaded with our record crop of apples, which will take priority, AND they can afford it!!!
