Using Drones against the Terrorists- George Will: Modern wars require modern rules

In other threads i see complaints about Obama using Drones so much. Seems to me that using Drones sure keeps some of our troops out of harms way.So say that so many civilians right close by get killed. This a war even though there is no actual country to fight just an ideology that constantly shifts in the regions.
"Some might say that when you roll in the dirt ;then some will get on you."

George Will(you know George i am sure) puts it so much better than i can.

Today’s war is additionally complicated by the fact, as Yoo says, America’s enemy “resembles a network, not a nation.” Its commanders and fighters do not wear uniforms; they hide among civilian populations and are not parts of a transparent command and control apparatus. Drones enable the U.S. military to wield a technology especially potent against al-Qaeda’s organization and tactics. All its leaders are, effectively, military, not civilian. Killing them serves military purposes of demoralizing the enemy, preventing planning, sowing confusion and draining the reservoir of experience.

Most U.S. wars have been fought with military mass sustained by economic might. But as Yoo says, today’s war is against a diffuse enemy that has no territory to invade and no massed forces to crush. The United States can win only by destroying al-Qaeda’s “ability to function — by selectively killing or capturing its key members.”
“Whatever you do, strive to do it so well that no man living and no man dead, and no man yet to be born can do it any better.”

Seems like we are always re-fighting yesterdays wars, trying to root out terrorists from 30000 feet is not effective.
If we are going to get in these conflicts,we need to use the best weapons at our disposal.
Of course if we brought all troops home and avoided foreign entanglements we would be wayyyyyy ahead.IMHO

There are many in our government who tell them they MUST use a measured response.

Apparently "tall" has no concerns with Failbummer being judge, jury and executioner drone style?
