Yes, I will post some more land auction prices, they have had alot just recently. Ghost and I are working together now, after all Ghost is the "REAL FARMER" here. He knows right down to the penny on how much a corn farmer should put in a Lime accruel Account every year to make your soil PH doesn't fall below 5.8. Ghost even knows how important it is to take yearly soil samples using the 10 grid system. Ghost raises 300,000 bushels of corn and 50,000 bushels of soybeans every year, plus he pays the $1 Million dollar in production costs to raise all that corn and soybeans. He even knows the cost difference if you plant a pop rate of 32,500 over 37,500. The guy knows it all!!!!!

ICF - it is clear that Ghost does not know that most of the land North of I-80 (north central & central) has a very, very high PH and is seldom limed and that is one of the reasons crops are so great up there in fact usually something is needed to bring the PH down to 7. It is only South of I-80 where we need to use lime to raise PH. because the soils are so acidic. John

gypsum seems to help limit the effects of high ph. also high ph is a big reason there is so much corn on corn in gods country. or atleast c-c-b rotations.

Gmart - I had included Gypsum in my post then erased it. I thought that was what was used to knock down high PH. I understand it was 15 degrees last night in Sioux City? Guess I can now start harvest! lol. John
